Attendant at rest stop on way from New Delhi to Agra

The handlers of these monkeys were quick to bring them to the car window as soon as we were stopped to pay a toll

The owner of this monkey pressed him very close to the car window while we were stopped for a toll hoping for money

The beauty of India surrounded us at every turn, the floral garlands on icon are fresh marigolds.

An opportunistic Jewelry merchant at a toll plaza on the journey to the Taj Mahal, our doors stayed locked while we waited for the driver.

We shared a car and driver from the le Meridien in New Delhi for our day trip to Agra.

I enjoyed sharing the journey to the Taj Mahal with a great girl from the Phillipines who was in New Delhi with a layover from Saudi Arabia–she is a flight attendant with Saudi Arabian Airlines

This corridor leads to the guest rooms in structure on opposite side of the Taj Mahal from the Mosque

It was fabulous learning about the love story of the ruler who built the Taj Mahal as a shrine to his wife to hold her tomb after she died at 38 giving birth to their 14th child. It took 22 years to complete 1631-1653.

The interior of the Taj Mahal is as beautiful as the exterior, the inlay of marble, malachite and ebony is absolutely amazing.
